A 38-year-old man was arrested by the Guardia Civil, accused of carrying out a burglary in a dwelling in Salobreña back in December.
The owners of the dwelling reported jewellery and cash missing so officers carried out a close inspection of the crime scene and opened an investigation into the crime.
Almost a month later, the Guardia Civil considered that they had enough evidence against a suspect to identify him; a known offender in the area. They then set about tracking him down, as he has no known address.
Then on the 12th of this month, they located him and carried out an arrest. The following day he was brought before a magistrate who authorised his being held in custody at the provincial prison until the time of his trial.
The investigation continues, however, to locate the stolen valuables.
