The Almuñécar branch of IU Podemos has asked for a bus shelter to be placed at the end of the Cabría access road (Calle Pintor Domínguez de Haro) in Taramay and one in Torrecuevas, too.
In fact, they made this request some years ago but the idea was never accepted, “despite many locals and tourists wanting one,” they claim.
At present, the bus that covers the Velilla route goes as far as the roundabout where Calle Mayor Zaragoza begins (see photo) and returns along Calle Camino de La Galera.
This, the IU-Podemos considers, is too far away from the residents of La Cabria, Loma de Curumbico and the beach itself. This is problematic for the elderly because of the steepness of the road to reach it.
The Councillor for IU-Podemos also requested during a Plenary Meeting of the Town Council in September that a bus shelter be erected in Torrecuevas near Venta Luciano. To date, they say, they have received no reply from the Mayor.
