Thanks to a CCTV camera in a nearby building, the alleged culprits behind a stabbing incident in Pinos Genil were arrested.
The suspects are French citizens and the victim is a 58-year-old Spanish resident who was hospitalised in the ICU of Hospital Clinico San Cecilio in Granada.
The Guardia Civil made the arrest of the 29-year-old man and the 21-year-old woman in Granada bus station. they have been charged with attempted murder, but that could change if the victim does not pull through.
The knifing incident took place on the 12th of October in the victim’s flat. They managed to remove his mobile phone before escaping.
The assailants used a broken bottle to stab him in the neck and abdomen. Apparently the attackers had turned the volume on the TV right up to hide the noise created but neighbours heard the screaming coming from the victim and phoned the police.
The suspects were at the bus station because they were attempting to abandon the province as they knew the police were looking for them.
Armed with the CCTV images the Guardia Civil and Policía Nacional had managed to comb the city and locate them, thanks to the close cooperation between the two police forces.
