This morning saw a road accident between a motorbike and a car on the N-340 where it passes through Almuñécar.

The accident occurred near the top entrance to Urbanización los Pinos (close to Barrio San Juan) around 09.00h causing two seriously injured victims.

The male biker was flown by air ambulance to Granada’s Hospital de Traumatología, Virgen de Las Nieves and the female driver was rushed to Hospital Santa Ana in Motril.

Sources say that the biker was heading towards Taramay in the overtaking lane and the car was using the same lane (which is not permitted with oncoming traffic) coming the other way, resulting in a head-on collision,
