A man died in Salobreña yesterday after falling down a barranco whilst out working on the land.

The emergency call-centre 112 received an alert informing them of the accident around 14.15h phoned in by a work companion saying that the 50-year-old victim was injured.

The emergency coordinator despatched the Guardia Civil, an ambulance and a work inspector. However, the paramedics confirmed that the man was dead and beyond medical assistance.

There is no further news as to where in the municipality this took place, nor information on the identity of the victim.
