There were two accidents involving three people that the Seaside Gazette covered recently. Since then, all three victims have succumbed to their injuries.
The first accident reported was on an incident in Motril on Calle Ancha on the 8th. A car had ridden up onto the pavement and hit an elderly pedestrian.
The driver, who had suffered a heart attack and lost control of his vehicle later died in the ICU. The pedestrian’s death preceded his by a few days.
The second incident occurred in Maracena on Wednesday the 11th of May just before 21.00h when a piece of masonry from a 3rd-floor balcony struck a young woman as she was getting into her car, which she had parked on Calle Ermita.
The 25-year-old, who had been accompanied by her mother at the time, was rushed to hospital and placed in the ICU with severe head injuries. Despite an emergency operation, she never regained consciousness and died yesterday.
