The Axarquía has decided to make a decisive move within the film world and has set up a rural school of cinema.
The project is the fruit of the Asociación Socio-Cultural De Plano y Artaide Elkartea, with the collaboration of the following town halls: Almáchar, El Borge, Iznate, Macharaviaya, Benamocarra, Benamargosa and Moclinejo as well as the sponsorship of the Fundación La Caixa.
For those behind the idea, a rural school of cinema is key in stopping the loss of rural population, whilst at the same time engergising social participation in rural areas. Another key point is to show the “cultural wealth of the Axarquía.”
The initiative will make its presentation at the Contenedor Cultural at the Universidad de Málaga, on number 23 Bulevar Louis Pasteur in the said city at 11.00h.
In the seven municipalities participating professionals from the film sector will offer eight courses in audiovisual creativity and another six, specialised courses to learn more about diverse areas with the sector.
All of the courses are very practical thanks to a team of actors and designers who will explain about productions, directing, camera use, sound, acting, make up & costumes.
At the end of each course, students will create collectively a film that will be shown at the travelling, Festival de Cine that will be in Axarquia between the 7th and 23rd of October this year.
