In case you were in any doubt, there is plenty of snow up on the Sierra Nevada, thanks to Thursday/Friday snowfall, giving the whole resort a postcard appearance.
Not only is Cetursa, the publicly owned company belonging to the Junta de Andalucía that runs the ski resort, a happy bunny but also all the shops, restaurants and hotels up there on Pradollano.
This is, after all, what winter on the Sierra Nevada is all about.
Many will remember the disaster of 1995 when the International Ski Championships that were due to be hosted in the Sierra Nevada were postponed until 1996 because there simply was not enough snow – fortunately, come winter 96 there was plenty.
Now, fingers are firmly crossed that temperatures won’t go up too much so that there will still be enough snow coverage on the slopes for a good Semana-Santa skiing season.
