A paraglider pilot crashed onto an elevated, rugged part of the municipaity of Teba in the Antequera area of Málaga.

The accident was reported around 14.50h yesterday when two flying companions of the victim contacted the emergency, call centre, 112 to say that the victim had crashed landed onto high, rocky ground and was in a very bad way.

The Guardia Civil, the Málaga fire service and the Teba Protección Civil were alerted and sent to the scene of the accident.

However, they could do nothing for the 57-year-old victim other than to recover his body.

Over in Almuñécar, a man slipped on the rocks on Playa de Enmedio (just below Ubr. Alfa Mar) and suffered a head injury and was taken to Hospital Santa Ana. The incident occurred in the late afternoon of yesterday, as well.
