The policía had to arrest a man yesterday who had refused to abandon a hospital on a visit after being asked to leave because he had no Covid certificate.

In order to visit a relative who is a patient in a hospital you have to provide a Covid Vaccination Certificate or a negative result for a Covid test – he had neither.

The Junta de Andalucía has just made this an imperative requirement for hospitals and medical centres.

The incident took place around 10.00h at the Hospital de Neurotraumatología y Rehabilitación de Granada, according to the Policía Nacional. Hospital security staff requested their presence because of the man’s refusal to leave, which led to his arrested for Failure to Obey a Police Officer.

The requirement to show a certificate or negative test result will remain in force until the 15th of January, thanks to the backing of the Tribunal Superior de Justicia de Andalucía (TSJA).
