Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez confirmed that the age group 60 to 69 will be included in the 3rd-jab campaign to counter Covid-19.

This measure, proposed by the Ponencia de Vacunas will foreseeably be approved next week by the Comisión de Salud Pública, which is made up from the Ministry of Public Health and the regional medical representatives belonging to the regional health ministries.

.”Vaccinating must continue without pause in a responsible and sensible manner,” said PM Sánchez at a press call in Ankara in Turkey where he was meeting with the President of the Turkish Republic, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

However, although the intention to give those of 60 and over is there, the ground work for this campaign is still on the drawing board, so there is much work to do between now and next week. If things go ahead, December will be the key month for this campaign, working up to Christmas.

According to the Ministry of Health 97.8% of those between 60 and 69 already have had their second jab (what was the complete course). This age group, together with medical personnel, will follow the conclusion of the over-70 campaign, which was approved in October.
