Salobreña will hold the Alborada Clásica music festival, which this year will be on Friday the 22nd and Saturday the 23rd of October.

To quote Wikipedia: “Alborada Clásica or Classic Aubade is a morning love song (as opposed to a serenade, intended for performance in the evening), or a song or poem about lovers separating at dawn. It has also been defined as “a song or instrumental composition concerning, accompanying, or evoking daybreak.”
The event is sponsored by the Town Hall with the support of the Provincial Council through its Department of Culture.
The Salobreña Councillor for Culture, Belén Sánchez, emphasises the “enormous prestige” of the participating musicians.
Events on Friday the 22nd start at 20.30h with the pianist, Andrey Yaroshinsky, who will perform in the auditorium, interpreting the works of Tchaikovsky.
Then, Saturday the 23rd starts with the screening of the film, Dancing Beethoven directed by Arantxa Aguirre, which was nominated in the 2018 Goya Awards for the Best Documentary category. This will take place at 11.30h in the conventions centre belonging to Hotel Salobreña.
At 19.00h back in the auditorium, the well known composer, Ricardo Llorca will run the audience through his work and explain some of the points within modern compositions.
The festival concludes at 21.00h in the auditorium with an evening of performances of soloists and the mezzo soprano, Joana Thomé da Silva, the baritone Alfredo García, the violinist Gala Pérez-Iñesta and the pianist Juan Carlos Cornelles.
