The church-charity drive in Almuñécar and La Herradura to obtain food for the needy on Saturday was a success.
In all, shoppers donated 2,600 kilos of food at the supermarkets where the volunteers were stationed, thanks not only to the generosity of the general public but also to the effort of the volunteers belonging to the Agrupación de Cofradías and the Cofradía de La Herradura.
Cáritas Coordinator for the event, Inma Corral, said, “we are very happy with the solidarity shown by the residents of Almuñécar and La Herradura,” adding, “once again they have collaborated by purchasing and handing over first-necessity foodstuff, including cooking oil.”
Head of the Cofradía de La Herradura, Francisco Camacho, also wished to thank the solidarity shown by the village, both residents and visitors.
