You’ve already heard about the eternal renovation work on the Paseo Andrés Segovia, but there are also plans for a Plaza de La Independencia face lift.
The Town Hall’s plans for the village’s main square will affect 2,354 sq/m on the square itself, as well as another 820 sq/m along the parallel side street.
The First Councillor for La Herradura, Juan José Ruiz Joya, explained that the budget for the works totals 345,498 euros. He said that it is one of the most important public spaces in the village which justifies it being renovated completely.
Further work on the Paseo won’t begin until the 20th of September, which will cost another 455,000 euros, entailing replacing the pavement surface – some 2,500 sq/m of paving tiles – and changing the street lighting over to LED lighting.
They’ll finish off with putting in new beach showers and replacing beach furniture (waste bins and walkways).
