In a village with a name remiscent of a Hollywood, medieval epic starring Charlton Heston and Sophia Loren, locals were dumb struck when a tornado took a shortcut through town.
Villagers were surprised, to say the least, to see a funnel develop in the middle of a swirling cloud and cut a path across the village.
The village of just over 2,000 inhabitants is quaint and has a lot of history behind it but after this recent visit from the Finger of God it looked like Atillah the Hun had spent and away-day there.
According to the local Town Hall, they immediately activated the municipal cleaning services to clear the streets of debris left by the strong wind associated with such a phenomenom.
The Mayor, Silvia Colom explained, “above all the debris consisted of broken tiles ripped loose,” adding that the experience had been “brief but intense,” which is also an accurate description of a body-cavity search at an airport, perhaps.
The important thing was that nobody was hurt although property damage is extensive, pointed out the Mayor.
