The first language meeting of residents of different nationalities took place in Almuñécar as part of exchanging language knowledge through conversation.
It was held on the bar terrace of Rinconcillo de JR in Cotobro with the presence of two councillors and representatives of various associations, as part of international, women’s month.
Councillor Reinoso applauded the initiative because it not only helps people learn a second language but also as a way to promote ties between the different nationalities resident in Almuñécar and La Herradura.
The said initiative was set up by the Asociación Costa Women and Zurich Almuñécar, with the collaboration of the Town Hall, BNI Vanguardia, Chiringuito Coco Bay La Herradura, Pizzeria Sabore D´Italia, Rinconcillo JR, Prominca and Electromar.
Sra. Ivonne Cabrera from BNI Vanguardia, who coordinated the event, explained that during 50% of the time people would speak in English and the other 50% speaking Spanish.
To participate those interested had to go to the Zurich Almuñécar office and pick up a voucher, giving them a free drink. The voucher is also valid for the draw with a tablet as the prize to help with the winners language sessions.
