The lifting on travel restrictions on people from the city of Granada and its surrounding towns was certainly felt on the Costa Tropical yesterday.
Although the weather was far from optimum (Friday had been much better), it didn’t stop people wanting to visit the beaches and eat at the chiringuitos in Motril, Salobreña, Almuñécar and La Herradura.
The traffic on the A-44 coming down from Granada was constant during the morning as people rushed to visit not only the beaches, but in many cases, to take up residence in the holiday homes, albeit, for just the weekend.
Also, with the whiff of Spring in the air, diving schools in Almuñécar and La Herradura opened up for business. Boyche at Open Waters, for example, had customers diving off Punta de la Mona – bathing in 15ºC in trunks or a bikini might not have been in many beachgoers’ minds, but wearing a neurpheyne suit, admiring the underwater world was certainly a popular idea.
