New Municipal Closures

LHR Police Control Point 02Several municipalities in Granada are tottering on the brink of closure, amongst them Almuñécar, which now has 464 per 100,000 inhabitants. In fact, the Granada Sur Health Area, as a whole, has 492 per 100k.

Take the case of Ítrabo, which has had four cases of contagion in 14 days giving them 404 per 100,000, but with a population of just 988 it would only take one more contagion case to push it past 500 per 100,000.

Inland we’re looking at Cenes de la Vega, Darro, Dúdar, Lanteira, Vegas del Genil and Bubión just waiting for the word from the Junta to close their municipal boundaries. In the case of Bubión with only a population of 296 and only three cases, they are over 1,000 cases per 100,000 meaning that their lockdown is total; all non essential businesses closed etc.

Chauchina, Diezma, Huéneja, La Malahá, Ugíjar and Purullena have broken well past the 500 mark and reached the 1,000 mark meaning, like Bubión, their boundaries and non-essential businesses are closed.

If you’re wondering what percentage of the provincial population is behind closed municipal boundaries, it’s over half (58%)

Darren: Nothing like a feline fritter or a marinated moggy when the fridge is looking bare! 😉

Thanks for the info Martin. Looks like I won’t be needing all these stray cat recipes after all.

Darren: Darn the extra “n” – I made an arse out of a year!

I don’t about the rest of our readers but I am gobsmacked by the number of things that people actually believe – social media is propagating mental disorders!

On the subject of the Almuñécar municipal borders, I can tell you where the borders are on the roads: with Salobreña it’s in front of Urb Alfamar; with Jete it’s where Torrecuevas stops, just after where the municipal bus turns around, and with Maro, it coincides with the provincial boundary on the bridge just before you get to the Cantarriján roundabout. If you live in a cortijo in the sticks, you will need to be a bit more specific as to where you live 😉

Oh noes! We’re about to be annually probed! I loved the phrase “orifice in the backside of ass” though…that was pure gold.

@Colin – some of the restrictions are a bit silly; the curfew for one, like covid is solar-powered or something. But considering how hard Spain was hit early on, Spain has done a pretty good job of containment so far. And it’s all been science-driven and equally applied to all. Some of the things do seem ludicrous like your example of one town being closed down while others are not; and some villages only needing one case to get the whole place locked down; but the authorities are going to get flak whatever they do. People don’t want to get covid; but they also don’t want to be inconvenienced by measures taken to prevent the spread. This “>0.5% = lockdown” approach may be producing some seemingly daft results; but I can’t think of a better way of approaching things.

@Martin – Do you have a map of Almunecar municipalities boundaries? I’m on the outskirts, so am interested to know whether I still have shops, or if I need to polish up my hunter gatherer skills.
And on the subject of dribbling madness and conspiracy theorists, one of my favourite bits so far is that a circuit diagram claiming to be for the “chips in the vaccine” turned out to be the diagram for a guitar effects pedal:

No this is incorrect. The current number is above 500 but the number is only observed for the purposes of restrictions on Monday and Thursday each week. If a Monday has a number that prompts restrictions, then those restrictions come in to play on Wednesday. Thursdays number applies to Saturday restrictions. Once restrictions are in place they stay in place for a minimum 2 weeks. The Junta have said this is the methodology until further notice.

Jes: I have approved this simply so that you don’t walk away convinced that you are being silenced. However, might I suggest that you contact Kelly who runs the Granada version of the Sentinella, who shares your views.

You see, Jes, if I don’t approve your comment then I am (in your eyes and those that think like you) censoring “the truth” thus reinforcing their belief that the conspiracy exists.

On the other hand, if I do publish it, then I will have readers calling me irresponsible for giving a platform to such “exotic claims”

In other words I am damned if I do and damned if I don’t

Personally, I believe that the planet’s supply of magic mushrooms has been plundered to near extinction by people who claim that the Earth is flat, Jesus danced with dinosaurs and that beings from advanced civilisation, crossing light years of distance just to land here… at night… and shove an annal probe up somebody’s bottom…. whilst nobody is looking.

So, Jes, you’ve had your say and I have had mine so we should both be happy bunnies. Have a splendid weekend.

PS: I deleted your promotional link under instructions from Lord Sauron (aka The Servant of Morgoth).

So in Almunecar, less than a half of one person in a hundred has a sniffle. The PCR test does not distinguish between a cold, annual flu, covid or a hundred other corona viruses or indeed any fragment of a persons genome 8 (part of their own DNA) When will people wake up to the fact that the agenda of very evil & corrupt people is to remove by vaccination the useless eaters from the planet, transhumanise the remainder as per UN Agenda 21 & 2030, World Economic Forum Great Reset & Rockefeller Foundation. Many thousands of World renowned professors and doctors in molecular biology are trying to warn people but are banned from mainstream news media. Browse them on xxxxx and stop being an orifice in the backside of ass.

Have now heard that Almunecar will have the perimeter fence imposed from Tuesday, but haven’t seen it written anywhere. Is it correct ?

I am pleased to see that after my earlier comments the realisation that dividing our province into very small portions is not a good way of controlling the spread of Covid. We should at least be looking at Granada City on one side and the rest of the province as a total. It is ludicrous that Eg Salobrena is closed down whereas Motril and Almunecar are not.
