The cranes have never disappeared from Playa Granada – they might have stood idle for a year or two, but they have long been visible there.
They’re back in action again, as any visitor to the area will notice and soon it will also be on a new construction project in the offing.
Motril Town Council in a recent Plenary Meeting approved a detailed study for Parcela 9, Polígono 2, Sector PL-3 on Playa Granada, presented by the building developer, Mayfo. Their project, entitled Aguacate Beach, involves 344 new dwellings there.
Mayfo presented the project for approval by the Town Council in order to obtain a building licence and begin work on this 2-phase, building project as soon as possible. The First Phase comprises of 180 dwellings which should be finished by summer 2022.
The building plot on Parcela 9 extends over 19,538 sq/m on which 35,397 sq/m of floor space will be crammed in. The plot borders on Calle Rector Federico Mayor Zaragoza to the north and Calle Rector José Vida Soria to the west. On its south and east sides is the golf course.
The Town Hall spent a good part of the Lockdown period granting building licences; over a hundred of them, which will bring in around a million euros for the municipal coffers.
