The Guardia Civil are investigating a 21-year-old man from Salobreña over two cortijo break-ins in Molvízar.
The first break-in occurred in March in the area of the municipality known as Los Palmares and resulted in the theft of several valuable items, all of which were later recovered by the Guardia Civil.
The accused allegedly broke the chain on the fence and then did the same to the lock on the apero (storage shed) where the owner kept a tractor. The thief was unable to steal the vehicle because he didn’t know how to start it, so instead, he made off with two strimmers, an electric saw, a toolbox and accessories for the tractor.
Using the same modus operandi on his next break in, the accused reportedly first tried to force the door to the cortijo but failed to gain entrance so he turned to the storage shed and managed to gain entry, making off with a generator, extension cable, an electric drill and several tools.
