Case Count May 10th

AND Andalusia Covid figures 10MY20Almuñecar: according to figures issued on the 10th there had been no new cases of Covid-19 during the previous two weeks. Since the pandemia began there were 19 cases and one death. As for the rest of Rio Verde: Jete, Otívar and Lentegí, there have been no cases at all.

As for Salobreña, again, in the previous 14 days prior to the 10th there were no new cases. Since the pandemia was declared there have only been eight cases in total.

On a provincial level, Granada is not doing so good, coming in second place as the worst hit province of Andalucia with only our neighbours, Málaga, taking the overall lead.

Looking at the health districts that our province is divided into, within Distrito Sanitario Sur de Granada (ours) there have been 177 cases overall, with just four new cases in the last 14 days. The fact that 149 of the 177 infected have since been declared cured is another item of good news. Fourteen people died, however since the crisis began.

Our Málaga neighbours and ‘companions in misfortune,’ more specifically Distrito Sanitario Axarquía, have seen 180 cases in all, 116 of whom have been discharged with a clean bill of health. The death toll has been 14. The last 14 days prior to the 10th, however, haven’t been so positive as there have been 29 new cases.

Our nearest neighbours over the border, Nerja, contributed one of those 14 new cases, giving it a total of eight cases since this pandemia began. There has also been one death.

Editorial note: sorry, we don’t have the figures for Motril for this 14-day period, but we shall be looking out for them.
