A young man broke into a pig farm and made off with seven bewildered pigs – is nothing sacred?
The 22-year-old suspect, a resident of Benalúa (Guadix) with a criminal record, allegedly carried out the bacon raid on the 18th of this month.
According to the police, he cut the chains on the main entrance to gain entrance to the pig pen and headed straight for the breeding area where the piglets are kept.
Before they could say, “oink-off!” he had seven of them loaded into his vehicle, together with five, 40kg sacks of barley feed and another five 40kg sacks of maize grain. If he did that by himself, he deserves a medal.
The pig-farm owner reported the break-in and theft to the Guardia Civil who knew exactly who to look up. Obtaining a search warrant they searched his house and found the ten sacks but the piglets… had already been eaten.
