Who Can Travel by Car

ALM Taxi Rank 01The Central Government issued a modification to the Royal Decree governing the lock down. The amendments came into force last night at midnight.

The changes cover how many people can travel in a car, which until now was limited to only the driver. Now you can take your children to the shops if the alternative means leaving them at home alone. This obviously applies to one-parent households.

Can you visit relatives who live alone? No, you cannot ‘visit’ them, however you can ‘assist’ them where they need help.

Can I share the car with co-workers in my place of work? No, you can’t. However, if two people from the same household work in the same place, then you can. For example, a husband and wife who work on the same premises.

As for taxis… we have just spoken with a taxi driver and yes, you can take a taxi but there should just be one passenger. Again, if it is a question of children that you can’t leave at home, then there can be more but all passengers must fit in the back – nobody can ride shotgun.

Noreen: Yes, and if you live together, then you don’t need to wear a mask inside the vehicle. You can travel anywhere you want within the province, not just Almuñécar. You cannot, however, go for walks in the countryside. You can go to bars and restaurants. It is foreseen that from Monday, it will probably be obligatory to wear a mask out on the street and within enclosed spaces where it is difficult to maintain the 2-metre safety distance. 😉

Its ok, i got the bus no problem this morning. They have sectioned off every other seat, so there is enough space between everyone.

What is the ruling with regards using the bus service. I dont drive, so need to use the bus service to get to my local Mercadona in Salobrena. Do i need to take my NIE number with me, or will my Mercadona shopping bag be enough, as proof of visit😃.
    Also, are the Tobacconists open?
