The Policía Local in Baza came across six individuals holding a botellón (open-air booze up) in the castle. The culprits could face hefty fines or prison.
Despite cases like this, the vast majority of citizens in and around Baza are obeying the quarantine measures.
It should be emphasised that no matter where you are in Spain, only one person can be in a car; i.e., there can be no passengers. The first time you’re caught, it could cost you between 300 and 600 euros whereas the second time it is prison.
If you are driving to work, you must posses a certificate from your employer containing information about the whereabouts of the said company, for example.
