Whereas there are Rotary Clubs in Málaga and the Western Costa del Sol, there is no Rotary presence to the east of Málaga.
The local Rotary district is seeking to expand and as part of its initiative is looking to form an international club to be based in Nerja. This new club will be sponsored by the Rotary Club of Marbella-Guadalmina.
This new club will be looking to recruit in an area running from Almuñécar to Rincón de la Victoria. It is looking to attract current and former Rotarians living in this area as well as people who would like to serve their community through Rotary; the world’s largest service organisation.
Rotary International has over 1.2 million members in 35,000 clubs worldwide. Its motto is Service Above Self. It seeks to serve the communities in which it is based, as well as participating in international initiatives.
One of its current successes is the programme of vaccination against polio, the aim of which is the final eradication of this disease. This goal is almost within reach with only a few countries in Asia being affected by infections.

Look forward to visit some day after covid19 has relaxed. I live in Almunecar when in Spain.
I wish you all the best in forming a new Rotary Club in Nerja. I have visited the town many times and was always surprised that there was not a Club. I look forward to visiting when I am next in Nerja.
Kind regards,
