Today is the big change over for one-way streets and other traffic-flow changes in Salobreña, which mainly affect the Pontanilla area of town.
Calle Juan Ramón Jiménez will flip its 1-way use so don’t get caught out there. As for Antonio Machado (see photo) well, it will now handle traffic in both directions, which is why you shouldn’t park along it.
The main reason that they don’t want you to park along either street from 08.00h on is because maintenance crews will be out painting lines, etc along the road surface.
This prohibition includes the Avenida del Mediterráneo from the roundabout where the Panadería El Postigo is because they will be changing road-surface, parking lines from inline parking to side-by-side. If you park there, you’re liable to get a nice line painted over the top of your car…
This parking prohibition will be in force from 08.00h to 17.00h and the new traffic-flow system starts in half an hour from when this article was published.
