The Asociación Estrella de Mar will be holding its Escuela Integrada de Verano in Salobreña again this summer, thanks to the good results from previous years.
The iniative is to promote the convivience of children with special needs with other children of their own age who do not have them. It’s all about imparting tolerance and sharing space without barriers.
The summer school will have different class structures for children with complicated behavioural patterns in the case of autism, for example and classes for those without behavioural problems, each with their own specific monitors. However, during the school day there will also be integration periods.
The idea is that at the throughout summer-school term the integration periods will grow so that by the end of the course integration will be 100% with totally mixed classes.
As for activities, there will be many of them linked with summertime, with sports, games, with special attention to cultural acivities. There will also be weeks dedicated to science and music amongst other subjects. There will also be horse riding and beach activities.
