Snake 0 – Guardia Civil 1

SPN Guardia vs SnakeThe animal protection branch of the Guardia Civil, Seprona, was tasked with capturing a 1.5-long snake from somebody’s drainpipe.

The incident occurred on the 3rd in Hornachos (Extremadura) after locals alerted the municipal police to the presence of the blighter!

The municipal boys had no idea whether it was poisonous so they decided to pass it over to the Guardia Civil, who called out Seprona.

They turned up and decided that it was a culebra, which is a generic name for ‘snake’ but in this case was a ladder snake; i.e. non-poisonous. Anyway, they needed the help of the fire service to get it out of the pipe.

The fire service flushed it out and the Seprona policeman was ready with a noose on a pole. Now they might be non-poisonous but they can be boisterous bastards when ejected from a pipe with a high-pressure hose, so the policeman had a bit of fun with the rowdy serpent.

A vet was on hand to confirm that it was in good health – annoyed – but A1 all the same. They then transported it to the countryside and told it to bugger off.

Just a final point, upon perusing the photo… notice where the municipal policeman is standing – he gets paid more than his Guardia Civil, counterpart by the way.
