Finnish Woman Rescued

NRJ Rio ChillarA Finnish woman, who had become lost whilst on an excursion, was rescued on Friday evening within the municipality of Frigiliana.

The husband started to worry when his 62-year-old wife had failed to return home after a setting out in the morning for a walk along Río Chíllar.

So, he went to the Policía Local in Frigiliana around 18.00h. The policeman on duty, Francisco José Gallardo Bossini, decided to use his dog, Reina (A Belgian Shepherd) to help locate the missing woman. Francisco had trained his dog for precisely this sort of task.

He asked the husband to fetch one of her socks from home so that the dog could sample her scent. Francisco parked the patrol car in front of the barrier next to the quarry and set out with the dog.

Within 90 minutes the dog had located the missing woman, who said that she had become disorientated and was fretting because the night was closing in. They both walked back to the patrol car and she was soon reunited with her husband around 20.30h.
