The Guardia Civil arrested a man in connection with a stabbing within the municipal dependency of Las Barreras, belonging to Órgiva.

The incident, which resulted in the death of the 43-year-old victim, took place in the early hours of this Friday morning. He was buried yesterday morning at 10.00h at the municipal cemetery.

The emergency number 112 had received several calls just after midnight to report that a man had been attacked and wounded near the A-348 road.

The Guardia Civil, Policía Local and an ambulance were dispatched but there was nothing that could be done for the victim, who was very well known in Órgiva.

However, neither the identity of the alleged aggressor nor of the victim have been made known.
