The Policía Nacional arrested an IRA member in Fuengirola on Friday the 6th, accused of at least one case of murder.
The suspect, 28-year-old Dean Evans, stands accused of the murder of Peter Butterly, a 35-year-old father of two, carried out in a car park in Gormanston, County Meath in the Republic of Eire, on the 6th of March, 2013. He was shot in the head as he tried to run away.
Three other men were also charged in connection with this murder: Edward McGrath, David Cullen and Sharif Kelly. On the 7th of April 2017 McGrath and Kelly were both sentenced to life imprisonment but Evans, whom the judge considers actually carried out the shooting, skipped bale and fled to Spain with his girlfriend
There has been an international arrest warrant out on him since the 21st of March last year and this arrested was carried out with the cooperation of the Irish police (Garda).
