After a long wait, the Escuela Municipal de Música de Salobreña has reopened after extensive reforms to the installations in the Casa de la Cultural.
The reopening ceremony consisted of a large fiestas, as well as the formal, ribbon-cutting ceremony. There was a parade through the streets and even a giant paella to mark the occasion. The procession thread its way between the Colegio Mayor Zaragoza, where the musical school was temporarily held, and its new location, in the Casa de la Cultura.
The municipal music school has not only had a facelift but is also now under new management under Jorge García Quirantes, who will be in charge of the 70-odd musical students. Homage was also paid to the late ex-director, José Pareja.
Besides the students Los Niños de Pepe, as they are known, the Musical Band itself also has around one-hundred members, which is part of the reason for the band’s prestige on a provincial level.

Dear sirs,
I kindly ask you, if you instruct drums at your music institute, a good friend told me, that you have the best marching band in town.
Thank you for your reply. Have a great day!
Greetings from Vienna.
