SAL Emergency exercise OnLJust before school broke up for Easter, the kids at the Colegio Mayor Zaragoza in Salobreña got to participate in the town’s emergency drill for earthquakes and fires.

With the municipal police and fire service standing by, the 600 schoolchildren and their teachers evacuated their classrooms and gathered in a safe area within the school grounds in just four minutes.

God knows that it takes a lot longer to get the little blighters into their classrooms for the first class on Monday mornings, although the school empties pretty fast, admittedly, as soon as the bell has rung for the end of the last class on Friday, naturally… and that’s just the teachers!
