You will no doubt have heard about the German man who ended up dead after an argument with two British men in the province of Málaga?
Well, in case you haven’t, the incident took place in The Captain’s Bar in Urbanización Alcántara in Cala de Mijas just after midnight; i.e., on the morning of Thursday the 16th.
Apparently, the evening started with cordial exchanges, only to end in blows. The German was knocked out and the two British men tried to bring him around, but it was useless as not only had he been knocked senseless, but the injuries proved to be fatal.
The 46-year-old German had stood up after the punch or punches but wobbled on his feet, so the two Brits helped him outside, where they left him, and went back inside.
However, as minutes passed and the German didn’t reappear, they went outside to find him as they had left him and tried to bring him around. When this failed, they decided to disappear, and drove off in a grey Rover 45 with Brit plates.
In the meantime the emergency services arrived at the bar only to find that the victim, Indo D., was dead.
Within 24 hours the two alleged aggressors had been arrested. One of them, 30-year-old Ross D.M., who reportedly has a criminal record, has been taken into custody on the charge of manslaughter, as he was the person who delivered the killing punch.
Ross D.M. reportedly has 40 offences on his criminal record and here in Spain has been arrested for possessing unlicensed weapons and driving without the correct documentation.
His companion, 58-year-old Stephen M.B. has been released pending trial, charged with aiding and abetting.
The victim had just invited the two men to a round of drinks but the detonator for the aggression is when the victim apparently tried to remove the younger man’s hat… which is fighting talk in the seedier areas of Britain. The result was several punches to the faces ending in fatal head injuries.
