Irishman Busted in Drugs Swoop

AND Irishman busted OnLAn Irishman and a Romanian were arrested in Armilla, Granada, when the police moved in on a drug-smuggling operation which exported hashish from the provincial capital to the Republic of Eire.

The men, both in their 30’s, allegedly packaged seven kilos of hashish between painting canvases, packed into a sealed cardboard box measuring 50cm by 70cm. Between every other canvas was a large bag of drugs weighing 1,800g.

The Guardia Civil in Armilla had received word that two foreigners had arrived in the town, looking to buy hashish in order to send it to Dublin. They actually arrested the men as they were loading the package into the boot of their car.

In the car was another person, a Spaniard, who managed to evade capture.
