The Partido Popular in Salobreña has sent photos of a CEPSA tipper-lorry carrying out what appears to be illegal dumping.
PP candidate for Mayor, Mari Carmen Vílchez, claims that water containing detergents used for cleaning out rubbish hopers is being emptied into an agricultural irrigation channel running parallel with the N-340.
Sra. Vilchéz says that while the governing party is calling on Salobreña residents to act responsibily when it comes to disposing of their rubbish, it permits the private cleaning company under public contract to do as it pleases.
Editorial Comment: it is a bit steep to claim that the Town Hall permits CEPSA to do what it likes as it is plainly obvious that they are not aware of these actions, if proved true.
However, if CEPSA is carrying out this kind of irresponsible action, then sizable fines have to be imposed, at the very least.
