Drunk Driver Collides with Police Car

Our hero is a 40-year-old man, residing in Albolote, awash with alcohol and unhindered by a valid driving licence.

This Romanian gentleman was driving through the Juncaril trading estate, mostly keeping to the road, at 05.00h one Monday morning when he was spotted by a Guardia Civil patrol car.

In fact, it would have been difficult not to spot him as he was driving at a fair pace, making the car slide around in a spin.

The Guardia Civil immediately set off in pursuit only to have their early-morning fun almost snatched from them by the drunk driver selfishly smashing into a Policia Local patrol car on the A-44.

Nobody was injured but most were surprised.

Surprised or not the Romanian, ‘wheel demon,’ drove on in what was left of his car, with little regard for normal road etiquette and at a pretty impressive speed.

Desperate for a grand finale he smashed into the central barrier of the autovia and then bounced off into a passing BMW. Again, nobody was hurt although the BMW driver will be crying for a months to come.

Surrounded by the Guardia Civil in a mangled car that was no longer willing to participate, the driver was arrested.

He optimistically refused to take a breathalyzer but his inability to stand up straight without tottering off a few paces to either side was enough to convince the policemen that he had been no stranger to stiff drinks that very evening.

He was charged with a long list of offences, bless his soggy cotton socks.
