The Councillor for Maintenance at the Salobreña Town Hall, Javier Ortega, said that work on the access roundabout would commence soon.
He said that it’s not just a case of planting a few flowers or putting a “monolith” in the middle, because there is an electricity pylon that also needs sorting out.
The Councillor had made this announcement after receiving a complaint from the PP opposition party. “The first step that the PP should have taken was to have asked at the Town Hall what stage of preparation the project was at, instead of launching a demagogic campaign,” complained Sr. Ortega.
He went on to explain that a technical report was necessary to move the pylon, to bury the cable and build transformer installations. According to the Councillor the project is now at Phase-Two level, which involves actually carrying out the physical work, which is why suitable companies have been approached for estimates – the Town Hall might even do the work itself, using its work staff.
Finally, he said that it is important that this access roundabout gives a good impression to tourists, using elements that reflect the “characteristics of our town.”
