Speedy Almuñécar Pleno

The last Plenary Meeting of the Almuñécar Town Council in 2012 only took five minutes. The points for voting were the settling of outstanding debts, resignations and loans.

For example, the approval of a payment of 972,353.78 euros for the municipally owned, underground car parks in Velilla and San Cristóbal. This ‘trifling amount’ has to be handed over to the construction companies that built them. A further 85,641 euros was approved for payment to Avila Rojas, thanks to a law court sentence, concerning a service lane next to the municipal sports stadium.

Also included in the session was the acceptance of the resignation handed in by the CA councillor, Jesús García Alabarce, who will be dedicating his time to the restaurant trade (Casa La Parra). CA councillor, Dolores María Jiménez Martín, also resigned her councillor status.

Finally – and all this in just five minutes – an extension of of the loan held by Bahía Almuñécar for a further 20 years on the underground car park in front of the hotel in Avenida Juan Carlos I.

There wasn’t enough time to discuss the broadcasting licence of the municipal radio, so it was left for the next meeting.

One last final point, in contrast to the brevity of the actual meeting, the session was delayed half an hour whilst the stage was adjusted to a more appropriate appearance for a Plenary Meeting of the Town Council – the stage was covered in props for the kiddies’ show, Academia Aromar, hence the interesting background to the photo.
