Finally the dreary winter has disappeared and the summer has started to warm us all up again and put a smile on our faces. So I thought what better subject to write about than the beautiful weather that has finally returned. I find that when the sun starts to show its face after a long and tiring winter I have more energy and a noticeable spring in my step, this probably applies to most of you too because we have the exquisite 11 week summer holiday fast approaching.
The atmosphere is always amazing in the summer whether on the beach or out at night everyone always seems to be so much happier and upbeat when it’s hot.
I don’t know if other people notice this but there is a certain smell, which instantly reminds me of summer; like a salty but woody kind of scent. Basically, summer is what we are all here for and what others come here to enjoy because it’s what we long for all year without realising it.
DD – The above is another lovely piece of descriptive writing from Ella Umney who is studying at the International School in Almuñécar. This second instalment of three is part of her Duke of Edinburgh Award task to have three articles published – both myself and the Ed are looking over our shoulders!
