The Mayor of Molvízar has been up before the magistrate, standing accused of coercing municipal workers into voting for his party: i.e., the Partido Popular.
Mayor Fermín García firmly denies this, claiming that he has never attempted to influence any municipal employee over where he should cast his vote. He further claims that he fired five temporary workers, just before those municipal elections to keep costs down.
The said employee, Carlos Jiménez reported the Mayor in May of 2007 for allegedly doing precisely that, together with the Head of Maintenance for the village, whose initials are F.A.G.
Sr. Jiménez claims he was told that he had to vote, together with his family, if he wanted to keep his job.
