The Secretary General of the PSOE, María Eugenia Rufino, has criticised the governing party for their seeming lack of interest in signing the accord with the socialist-run provincial council, which deals with maintaining social services. This reluctance on the part of the conservative-run Town Council to co-operate with their political rivals in Granada is putting into jeopardy the town’s social services in general and demonstrates a laxity in implementing the Ley de Dependencias, which provides social and financial aid to those who look after disabled family members.
