Rest. Casa Bates

It was the first time in the 33 years that I have lived here that I walked in through the gates of Casa Bates – I was gobsmacked.

This 18th-Century manor house is built in the Italino style and possesses, without doubt, the most impressive gardens on the Costa tropical – what better settings for a select restaurant and events venue, such as for a wedding?

Iñaki Rodríguez Martín-Feriche explained that for just 30 euros per head, diners could enjoy their Mediterranean cuisine, prepared by the restaurant’s French Chef.

Personally, I would pay 30 euros just to be shown around the house and grounds, let alone enjoy a splendid meal.

Parking is not a problem and neither is accommodation because Casa Bates offer a double room with breakfast included for just 80 euros.

Even if you just want to check out the marvellous gardens, complete with towering Lebanese cedar trees, you can do so for just three euros and find out more about the restaurant and accommodations whilst you are there.

Of course, you must make a reservation if you wish to dine there or even just walk around the gardens, so don’t forget to phone or visit their web site for more information.

Located between the Granada junction of the N-340 and the first entrance to Motril, Casa Bates has a very interesting origin – don’t forget to ask. Reservations 672 357 336.
