Almuñécar Medieval Market

ALM Belly Dancer 2018The Medieval Market on the Paseo de San Cristóbal in Almuñécar is up and running and will be until Sunday midday.

Almost 50 stands are strung out along the paseo where the only condition for putting a stall up was that you had to wear Medieval attire.

This is the first time that it has been held on that paseo as it is normally held of the Paseo del Altillo, but with all the roadworks going on, it was thought best to move it.

There is a falconry stand, where a wide-eyed great owl watched the Arabic belly dancer (Alejandra Palacios) a few metres away; natural pALM Falconry Owlroducts such as soaps and candles – back in Medieval times you would make a killing selling the latter and starve to death selling the former, but that’s besides the point…

There is also a swing in the form of a miniature Viking longboat and other attractions for kids.

Anyway, pop round to see it, today or tomorrow morning for a spot of something different!
