Monday will see the top of Avenida de Andalucía closed off as the last stage of the surface renovation will begin then.

The middle stage was completed before summer and this last bit, the top section, was put on hold until after the tourist high season had finished.

Nearly 20 companies had entered a bid for the project calculated at 336,000 euros, so it should come as no surprise that the company that put in a bid for 275,000 euros, Probisa Vías y Obras, won the contract.

So, there is no access from the Carrera de la Concepción; i.e. the top access junction, as far as Calle Jaén. So, if you need to access the top end you must do it via Avenida Juan Carlos I.

Editorial comment: how long is this roadwork expected to last? Don’t know; not mentioned, but don’t worry, if they had, it would have been criminally optimistic.
