The Almuñequero, Carlos Rodríguez Cano, has been proclaimed  The Junior Champion of Spain in the individual time trial (CRI) that opened the Junior Cycling Championship of Spain which is being held in Soria, under the direction of the Andalusian coach Antonio Miguel Díaz .

Rodríguez Cano, who was one of the favorites for this stage, did not let his fans down with a time of 25:46 to complete the  18.7 km, mostly flat course, ahead of the Spaniard, Ivan Cobo, who was second with a time of 26:15 and also the Asturian, Pelayo Sánchez who crossed the finish line on 26:33.

It was the perfect trial, and the Almuñécar cyclist flew round the course and smashed the record for the intermediate stage of the circuit with the best time of 13’26.

Young Carlos is already the Cofidis Spanish Junior Cup holder with the Spanish Cycling Team.

Now the cyclists have all had time to recover their strength strength ready for the next stage which will see Carlos and the rest compete on the road.
