MOT TyresThe Provincial Public Prosecutor is recommending five years imprisonment for a man who stole 80,000 euros worth of tyres…

The affair goes back to November 2012 when Oscar S.M. began to gain entrance outside work hours to the Gestirueda garage that deals in repairs and tyre sales, which is located in Motril. He was a worker at this firm and took advantage of the boss’s trust in him.

The accused allegedly sold the tyres, nearly a 150 of them, on to five individuals, who are each facing three years imprisonment themselves for their part in the theft.

The owner of the workshop finally caught on to what was happening and reported it in August 2014, by which time 149 tyres had ‘disappeared.’

The thief’s main outlet was Francisco Javier R.G., according to the P.C., who obtained the 104 tyres by paying in cash with never a bill being made out.

The court case comes up on the 9th of July, where the ex-employee also faces a fine of 3,600 euros, as well as the prison sentence.
