SAL New Community Services CentreIf all goes according to plan, Salobreña could soon have a new Social Services Centre on a plot behind the Town Hall. At the moment these services are located in the Casa Roja.

The plot is publicly owned land has been ceded to the Provincial Council who have already sent the preliminary plan for the new building.

The Social Services Centre will consist of 515 sq/m, distributed on two floors plus a garage. It will be paid for with provincial funding with the hope that the costs will be covered through a European grant which has already been requested.

However, Councillor María José García has pointed out that this is a “long-term project” and not to expect it to start in the next two years.

The plot, which is being fenced off at the moment, will be used as a parking area for municipal vehicles in the meantime.
