Circular Waterway

SAL Roundabout FloodingFour drops of rain and the top end of Salobreña floods again so that the roundabout could be mistaken for Venice.

The fire service was called out to pump water, not onto flames, but out of pond-sized puddles… perhaps that’s why they’re called bomberos (pump men)?

Top marks for the Urban Development Department who spent sleepless nights designing road layouts and their drainage system so that Salobreñeros could launch their canoes and cruise the streets!

God knows that we only get downpours like this interspersing extended drought periods nowadays and yes, Britain only has to have two consecutive days of clear skies and a drought is declared with an accompanying hosepipe ban so let’s stow the superiority complex, but, come on, Guys, get it together – it’s only bloody water! It runs downhill without much persuation, for God’s sake.
