MOT Hotel Playa GranadaThe Motril opposition party, Ciudadanos has demanded the immediate reopening of a beach-access footpath on Playa Granada.

The said footpath, which runs through the golf course/hotel area, was closed by inspectors from Hacienda and who also put up a notice stating “State Property.” This all has to do with Hacienda grabbing the eight holes from the Moriscos Golf Course.

The footpath came into being in 2005 as part of an agreement between the Town Hall and the developer of the nearby urbanizaciones. Furthermore, according to the Land Registry, it does not figure within the embargoed land.

The PP Spokeswoman, Sra. Sánchez, stated that she does not understand why the Town Hall has allowed Hacienda to do this and that her party is going to demand that the Town Hall does something about it.
